Fun Family Day

Last Wednesday Jamie took a day off... the first in about a month. Of course we had to do something fun. We took Caleb back to the SJ Children's Discovery Museum. The first time we went, Caleb just started to crawl so there was only so much he could do. Now that he's walking and much more active he really enjoyed the museum. There was a Curious George exhibit. He went crazy for the little golf balls in there. We also went to the infant/toddler area called the Wonder Cabinet. We put a smock on him and waited to see what he would do. I thought he looked really cute in a smock.

Basically he held the paintbrush and dipped it in the paint container. The art you see on the wall was done by Jamie ;)

We liked the museum so much we ended up getting a yearly membership. We figure we'd go at least two more times in the next year to justify the cost.

13 months

Caleb turned 13 months yesterday. He is getting funner and funner everyday. I love watching him discover the world around him and learn new things.
  • He can walk but he prefers to crawl or do hybrid walk/crawl which looks like he is groveling. It's amazing he hasn't skinned up his knees.
  • He can stack blocks.
  • He is drinking whole milk out of a straw.
  • He is more interested in what is on my plate than what's on his tray. Case in point: He kept pointing to a piece of toast that I was holding even though he had the other half of the toast in his hand.
  • Because of above point, he has tasted french fries and loves them
  • He points to Raider when we ask "Where's Raider?". If you ask "Where's Mommy" he doesn't do anything.
  • He threw his first head and feet banging temper tantrum. My only regret was not capturing it on film.
  • He dances or should I say he rocks back and forth when he hears music
  • He can say ball (ba), momma, daddy. I think he's also said kitty and all done.
  • He knows where his tummy is.
  • He is a climber. He can climb onto the bathroom sink via the bathtub ledge.
  • He has FOMO. Fear Of Missing Out. Because of this disorder he is unable to nap in other places besides home.
  • He loves to run around naked or just in a diaper after bath time.

Milk... it does a body good

More Blocks

I got this toy at a neighborhood garage sale a couple of months ago. The blocks have holes in them and you're supposed to stack them on the pegs.

So yesterday Caleb stacked some blocks... today he started to put the blocks with holes onto the pegs. He liked to clap each time he inserted one even when he didn't do it right and the block fell. He even tried to stack blocks without holes. Oh well! At least it's a start...

Block Building

I got Caleb some wooden blocks months ago. I stack the blocks and Caleb always knocks them down. He usually bangs them together or puts them in his mouth. Today at a playdate Caleb took the blocks and stacked three of them! I thought that was cool :)

I wanted a picture so I got out his blocks so he could do it again.
