Note to self: Go earlier in the month and earlier in the day and find out ahead of time when Santa feeds his reindeer. We went to visit Santa today and got their at 4:10pm but alas he was feeding the reindeer from 4-5pm. We killed time by going to get a snack and by the time we got back at 4:45 a line had already formed. Ugh! By the time we were all said and done it was 5:45pm. But I got a cute picture of the boys. This year both of them were prepared with what they were going to ask for from Santa (a fire truck for Caleb and a race car for Lucas). Thank goodness for Amazon Prime.

Holiday Tree Walk
For the past few years we've gone on a Holiday Train Ride. This year we went on a different one and my sister and nieces joined us. It was a Holiday Tree Walk at Roaring Camp Railroad in Felton. We're experiencing a serious cold spell and it was FREEZING!! Luckily we were pretty bundled up with jackets, hats, and gloves so the train ride in open train cars wasn't too bad.The train ride went through the gorgeous redwood forest. At the stop at the top of the mountain Santa was there handing out candy canes and much needed hot cider. At first Lucas didn't want to try it but when he did, he declared it as "yummy". There also was a path of decorated Christmas trees. Overall it was a good time.

The Kissing Hand
Lately Caleb has been saying he's scared and doesn't want to sleep alone. Even with Lucas sleeping in his bed he wants to sleep with a grownup. Tonight I mildly suggested that I kiss his hand just like in the book The Kissing Hand. He said no. We negotiated that I would lie in his bed for 10 minutes. At the end of the 10 minutes I kissed him good night and was going to leave and then he oh so quietly said "Mom" and I turned and he held out his hand. I gave him a big kiss on his hand and he held it close to his chest. I almost lost it.
