19 months!

I'd say the first 6 months were long. The next 6 months were definitely better and funner. Since he turned one the time has flew.

This is my attempt to capture the silly and funny things that Caleb says and does that I know I will forget when he's older. It is really fun to see what makes him laugh, what he notices around him, and watch him learn about the world around him.
  • Anything round is either a ball, moon, or balloon.
  • I think it's adorable that he can't say balloon right... it comes out as 'bah-boon'
  • He saw a small white dog the other day, pointed and said 'baah'. I think he thought the white dog was a sheep. Other times he sees a dog he'll sign the word 'dog'
  • He sees the McDonalds arches and says 'M'
  • On that note and I hate to admit this but... when we go through the drive-through at McDonald's he'll say 'fries'
  • He skips the number '8' when trying to count.
  • There was a triangle on the back of a book and he pointed and said 'boat'.
  • He calls crayons 'paper'. Maybe it's because he only uses crayons under close supervision and we tell him constantly to only draw on paper.
  • He likes for me to draw a baseball, football, balloon, or basketball.
  • He also likes for Jamie or me to draw Mommy or Daddy. Mommy has long hair while Daddy has glasses and spiky hair.
  • He likes airplanes. He usually hears it before he sees it.
  • He loves Elmo and Sesame Street.
  • He doesn't like stuff on his hands and wants me to clean it up right away. This makes art class a little difficult.
  • When he comes home from being away for a night, he likes to try to hug our cat Raider.
In a nutshell we think Caleb is AWESOME!

ABC's

Caleb has some toys and a couple of books that are aimed at learning the alphabet. He's beginning to recognize them and I'd say he definitely recognizes a handful pretty consistently. He also confuses a lot of letters like O & Q, I & T, and X & Y. I love how he says 'R'. It makes me chuckle every time.

Family Photo Session

A few friends I know from DayOne have had family photo shoots with V&J Photography. After seeing all of them I wanted to have one too. All the pictures turn out great. I was lucky enough to bribe one friend into giving me the free photo session when she won a little contest they have every few months. (Thanks Suzy!)

We did a photo session focused on Caleb last year around this same time. I wasn't sure if I wanted to save the photo session until baby#2 comes along but am glad that we decided to do it now when Caleb is almost 19 months. I definitely would never have done a pregnancy photo shoot and reluctantly take belly shots. I am pretty sure this is going to be my last pregnancy so I also thought it would be nice to have some nice pictures done at this moment in time - family of 3 almost 4 or should I say family of 3.5?

Jamie and I get totally self conscious with posed pictures. Jamie would much rather be behind the camera then in front of it. But here it is...the link to the sneak peak of our photo session.
