1 more week

We scheduled movers to come one week from today to move us to our new house. Funny how we moved into this house when I was 36 weeks pregnant and by next week I'll be 37 weeks pregnant. One good thing about moving when pregnant... you really do have a good excuse for getting help with the mundane task of packing.

Even though we only lived in this house less than 2 years, I get teary eyed only because of things related to Caleb. This was his first home and the first year are full of firsts and all kinds of milestones for a baby and they all happened here. I don't think I would be as emotional if it weren't for pregnancy hormones.

Bye bye Stanley Ave house. You were good to us!

36 weeks!

It's here... The 36 week point. At my last OB appointment my doctor said, anytime after 36 weeks, the baby is good to go and he won't be stopping labor. I guess it's just a matter of time. With our upcoming move next week, I really hope the baby doesn't pick now to come into the world.

We're getting really excited for the arrival of this little guy. I'm also really looking forward to being able to sleep on my stomach again and not having the urge to pee every 10 minutes.

I guess we really have to decide on our top choices for names!

Sleepless/restless nights

oh the last month of pregnancy is here and with it comes common symptoms:

• uncomfortable sleep
• waddling
• uncomfortable sleep
• belly aches
• uncomfortable sleep (did I mention this already?)
  
• Braxton Hicks contractions
  

It's a good thing I'm going to the spa in the morning for a pregnancy massage!

With this being my second pregnancy one thing I didn't expect is how nervous about how my labor and delivery will go. I was definitely nervous the first time but it was a different kind of nervous. Everything was so unknown! This time around I feel like my first labor and delivery went pretty smoothly. Sure I was a week overdue and had some issues during labor and Caleb had to be in the special care nursery for a few days but in the end, he is a healthy little boy and didn't have any issues that warranted urgent care or trips back to the hospital.

Having heard many more labor/delivery stories and other complications I fear that this labor/delivery will be the total opposite. Oh and also that I've heard lots of times the temperament of a second baby is opposite/different than the first in which case would mean a difficult baby. Maybe that explains all the restless nights?

But hey don't get me wrong... I am soooo looking forward to meeting this new little guy. It's pure joy watching a little newborn grow into a toddler and seeing a personality develop. I wonder what he'll look like. Will he have lighter or curly hair? Will he be a chubby baby? Will he be early? How early? The list goes on and on.

Braxton Hicks or Active Baby?

Lately I think I've been feeling Braxton Hicks contractions. There are times when my belly gets hard and the baby moves around a lot. You would think I would know the difference since this is my second pregnancy but I am still uncertain. I have a feeling that this baby might arrive before the due date. This is such a scary thought since we are in the process of selling our house and moving.

Does panicking over the long to-do list fall in the realm of "nesting"?

20 months!

Caleb isn't a baby anymore. He walks well actually he runs, he talks (sometimes shouts!), he has mischievous looks, and can be quite demanding. These days it seems like he copies everything that Jamie does and say. It's really cute and funny.
