The first table he sat at had a bowl of colored rice and paper with a flower drawn on it. The goal was to brush on some glue and pour some rice on the flower to decorate it. It was more like he put globs of glue on the paper and scooped spoonfuls of rice.
The second table had paintbrushes. More globs of paint. He did like the sponge tipped paintbrushes and was able to dot on the paper.
The third table had a boxtop for you to place a blank piece of paper and put in marbles that were dipped in paint. The child was to tip the boxtop around and let the marbles roll around and paint on the paper. We think this is a masterpiece and very Jackson Pollock-like. (then again all toddler's works of art resemble Jackson Pollock)
Caleb usually doesn't like anything on his fingers. When rice gets stuck on it, he grunts until I get a napkin to clean it off. But overall I think he enjoyed the class. Next week the theme is "Round Art". I think he'll enjoy that since anything round or resembling a ball he loves.
