Teacher Treasure

One of the auction items is a "Teacher Treasure". The kindergarten teacher treasure were tickets for a San Jose Giants game. At the game, each child would get to go on the field and have their named called up as part of the starting line up. There was also an opportunity to get signatures from the players. Each child also got an unlimited pass to the kids fun zone. We got to the park early and waited for everyone to arrive. The kids were then ushered onto the field while parents went to the stands. It seemed like it took forever for the starting lineup announcement. Caleb was last in order which meant he got to run "with" the pitcher. Maybe the pitcher was in the "zone" because he didn't seem to really acknowledge the two kids running after him. While on the field, the national anthem was played and then the kids ran off the field.

After that Caleb and the rest of the kindergarteners got stamps for the fun zone. We spent some time there then went to get our hot dog and drink to go sit in the stands and watch the game. Lately Caleb has been really into sports. If the SF Giants are on tv he wants to watch and he's slowly understanding the rules of the games. I love it! We were enjoying watching the game and I asked him how much of the game did he want to see and he replied "all of it". Well we stayed until about the seventh inning, played in the fun zone again for a little while then headed home. It'd be fun to go back again.
